What does Christmas and more broadly, Christianity, mean to you? In this video, our rector shares his thoughts and words of comfort. Whether you are new to Christianity or seeking a place to be renewed in faith, there is no better time to visit Holy Cross than during Christmas.
The Rev. Jared Jones
Holy Cross Rector
Life today is busier than ever. It’s hard not to feel exhausted by it all. Did we pick the right careers? Are we getting our marriage right? Were we gentle or strict enough with our kids? Do we have enough to retire? The questions go on and on and they all lead to the same answer: we’re tired.
Church can often just be one more voice of exhaustion in the mix. Did we do enough for our neighbor? Did we do enough for God to love us? What is “enough” anyway?
At Holy Cross, we believe that Christ is inviting us to rest, not be more exhausted. Jesus once said, “Come to me all you who are weary and heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” Everything we do at Holy Cross, whether it’s worship, fellowship, outreach, or even service, we do so that we might find true rest.
This is a place where you can find the real answer to those questions: Jesus has accomplished everything that needed to be done. Come and rest.
Inspired by the Bible's First Timothy, our BE RICH campaign is happening all month long. Each week, Holy Cross will be engaging with our community partners by being "rich in good deeds."
Every Sunday during the 10:15 AM service, we will hear from one of our many community partners, all of whom are serving our neighbors in important ways. Parishioners will also be bringing in and donating various goods to support these organizations.
Saturday, October 18th, is our Holy Cross Serves Day. We'll gather in the parish hall at 8:00 AM for breakfast and morning prayer before heading out to serve at different sites alongside our partners. Join us!
What is the meaning of life? Who is Jesus? How do I pray? Life is full of important questions but we’re often so busy we don’t take the time to ask them.
Whether you are a follower of Christ, curious about faith, or a total skeptic, come to our Alpha course and take the time to ask the questions that have been on your mind. You may find that you’re not alone!
Alpha will return for another 8-week session starting on January 28, 2026. Join our newsletter to get the latest about this popular series!
